LANDMARKS, a journey into exploring how paint, plywood, and mark marking can be combined.
The latest exhibition was held at the Biscuit Factory, Newcastle. It showcased the second phase of this journey, which saw Ellie Gair and Tom Ownsworth pooling their talents again to produce a series of pieces examining depth, perspective, colour, and contrast.
Inspired by Northumberland, painted landscapes inform compositions of graphic cut marks, outlining elements and structures.
Plywood provides the canvas, with layers of grain being revealed by cut marks through the painted surface.
Ellie paints and Tom cuts!
A collaboration between GAIR(ish) Paints and PLYable Design.
